Jonathan Lemon

"Alley Oop" cartoonist Jonathan Lemon is an award-winning former musician and stand-up comedian whose other daily comic strip, “Rabbits Against Magic,” has been nominated for two Silver Reuben awards. Lemon’s political cartoons have appeared in The Boston Globe, San Jose Mercury News and San Francisco Chronicle. He was the cartoonist-in-residence at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in 2010 and was one of the featured artists in the book “Peanuts: A Tribute to Charles M. Schulz.” He was also one of the cartoonists contributing to book "Team Cul de Sac: Cartoonists Draw the Line at Parkinson's," which benefits the Michael J. Fox Foundation to support Parkinson’s Disease research. He is a member of the American Association of Editorial Cartoonists and the National Cartoonist’s Society. Lemon was born in Watford, England, and has lived in the United States for over 25 years.

Joey Alison Sayers

"Alley Oop" writer Joey Alison Sayers has been writing and drawing comics since the day she was born and will continue to do so until the heat-death of the universe. She has created comics for The Nib, Mad Magazine, and for newspapers around the globe. Her work was featured in the 2011 Best American Comics anthology, and in sixth grade she was beaten out by another student in a contest to design the school mascot. You win some, you lose some. Joey lives in Oakland, California with her wife and two kids.
