Tom Strongman's Wheels is a weekly feature that offers automotive reviews and personal stories of people who have restored the vintage cars that first sparked their interest in automobiles. Photos and graphics accompany each review and story.
Tom Strongman

Tom Strongman's passion for cars was sparked at the age of 12, when he and his brother built a hot rod based on the frame of a Crosley station wagon. He turned his love for cars into a successful career as an automotive editor and test driver, writing about the auto industry for The Kansas City Star for 25 years.
Since 2002, Strongman has written a weekly column about vintage cars and the people who love them. In 2006 he and the Star published a compilation of these stories in a highly popular book called "Wheels of Dreams."
In the course of his two decades of covering the automobile industry, Strongman has traveled widely, covering international auto shows, new model introductions and races at venues that include the 24 Hours of LeMans in France and Formula One races in both the United States and Europe.
Strongman has a degree in photojournalism from the University of Missouri. He lives in Leawood, Kan.
Meet the Cast of Wheels
The American landscape is paved with memories of our beloved '63 Corvettes and '67 Mustangs. And new roads are being explored every day with the Hybrids and Smart Cars that are changing the auto industry's standard of what a car can do.
Tom Strongman bridges the past with the present in Wheels, which appeals to moderate and hardcore automobile enthusiasts alike. It offers expert insight and opinions on industry trends and new makes and models, as well as the personal stories of those who have painstakingly restored the vintage cars that first sparked their love of automobiles.
We always have somewhere to go, and we want the right automobile to get us there. Wheels will lead the way.
